A soakaway lets surface water disperse into the ground rather than flooding your garden or overloading the mains. We excavate to the right depth, wrap the pit in geotextile membrane, install modular crates or clean hardcore and connect the inlet pipework with correct falls and an inspection point.

Drainage Runs & Connections

From a single gully to a full run across a site, we lay pipework on a proper pea-shingle bed with the correct gradient, install inspection chambers at every change of direction and test the fall before backfilling. Existing runs can be excavated, repaired or rerouted.

How much does a soakaway cost in Bognor Regis?

Most domestic soakaways fall between roughly £900 and £2,500 depending on the crate volume needed, depth, access for machinery and how far the connecting pipework has to run. We give a fixed, no-obligation price after a free on-site survey.

Why is my garden waterlogged?

Around Bognor Regis and the West Sussex coastal plain the ground is often heavy clay with a high water table, so rainwater cannot soak away naturally. Compacted soil, poor falls and blocked or missing drainage make it worse. A land drain network feeding a properly sized soakaway is the usual fix.

Do I need planning permission for a soakaway?

Not usually for a domestic soakaway, but it must be built to Building Regulations Part H — generally at least 5 metres from any building and sized to the area of hard surface draining into it. We build to those standards as standard.

How long does drainage work take?

A single soakaway is often a one-day job. A full garden drainage scheme with land drains and a soakaway typically takes two to four days, depending on ground conditions, access and reinstatement.
